Heritage Gardenscapes is the new exciting division of Heritage Garden Designs, Llc. Through our consistent hard work and dedication to our profession and clients, we have been able to expand from a landscape design company to a full-scape design-build firm.
Founding president and primary design, Melissa Leo-Ciacci, began her career working as a floral designer in a small flower shop. After realizing her passion for live plant material, Melissa moved forward with a new position as a perennial manager in a local garden center. Steadily over a period of eight years, her responsibilities expanded to chief buyer of perennials and herbaceous plants, managing several greenhouses for growing annuals and perennials, running crews in the retail yard and creating landscape designs for the garden center clients. As her professional role developed Melissa devoted herself to evening courses at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, becoming certified in ornamental plants and design. Melissa approached the garden center with a vision for creating a design/install department. The owners decided against the expansion, and Melissa decided to take the leap herself. Over the eight years since Heritage Garden Designs, Llc. was formed Ms. Leo-Ciacci has cultivated her business to address the needs of both the residential and commercial client.
Ms. Leo-Ciacci is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, The Philadelphia Horticultural Society, and the West Chester Garden Club. She volunteers her time on committees dedicated to open space and conservation in surrounding communities.
